PSO (Procurement Spend Optimization)

PSO Project was launched in April 2004 with the involvement of a large number of MOL Group employees. The main goal of the project was to gain an overview and streamline the purchasing expenditures of the integrated company.

Aims of PSO:

  1. The project aimed to create transparency across the total purchasing volume of all companies belonging to the Group (MOL, Slovnaft, TVK, retail subsidiaries, single service companies, MOL LUB).
  2. PSO strove to take advantage of the increased purchasing volumes of the Group by negotiating better terms with suppliers.

Process improvement related technical ideas were gathered with the involvement of business unit experts, to help achieve the 10%-12% average aspiration savings targets in the purchasing-related expenditures.

The PSO project was led by Corporate Services Productivity Centre with strong cooperation with Procurement and Business Units/ Functional Units.
