Regions for Us

Through a grant programme of the Central European Foundation called "Regions for us", SLOVNAFT supported 34 projects from all regions of Slovakia that will allow to improve conditions for education for 10 000 primary school pupils and children attending nursery schools.

In 2005, a sum of 13 million Slovak crowns was allocated and will be used for reconstruction of schools and pre-school facilities. The objective of the project is to support effectively the development of regions of Slovakia and to provide missing services in the field of education as well as to enhance the standards of the existing schools and pre-school facilities so as to achieve the level common in the European Union. 

The programme "Regions for us" will help the self-government authorities that adopted an active approach to getting funds for reconstruction of schools. A grant may be applied for by those self-government authorities whose projects successfully applied for finances from the EU structural funds.
